Dear Piper,

What are your thoughts on flat shoes verse heels?? Do you think they both can be sexy? I often wear flat shoes, and try to pick sexy flattering styles, sometimes I just feel more sexy and professional in heels? My mantra for dress is sexy but comfortable.

Dear Smurfette,

A lot depends on your gams. If you’ve got long, gorgeous legs you’ll no doubt look great in any shoe, even those Grizzley Adams-esque boots from down under that everyone and their mother decided they couldn’t live without last year. However, if you’ve got short, chubby, bright blue stubs for legs, you’re in trouble. It’s my belief a flat can definitely be sexy (ad a bow, a pointy toe, an ankle strap) but a heel beats a flat in any shoewear smackdown. I think it’s because heels elongate the leg and make you walk with your hindquarters perched out just so. Tune in next week for thongs vs. boy shorts.
